Job Description:
The Digital Curriculum & Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering innovative, technology-driven employment programming across virtual platforms. This role leads the creation of engaging digital learning experiences, including online courses, workshops, and interactive content that support job seekers through the full continuum of employment readiness and retention.
This position is highly tech-focused, requiring expertise in e-learning design, virtual facilitation, and digital engagement strategies. The Specialist leverages platforms such as D2L, Zoom, and other learning management systems to build scalable, accessible, and impactful training solutions.
The role blends employment coaching with digital innovation—transforming traditional employment supports into dynamic, online-first experiences that meet clients where they are.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality digital employment training content, including e-learning modules, videos, interactive activities, and downloadable resources.
- Build and manage courses within Learning Management Systems (e.g., D2L), ensuring content is engaging, accessible, and user-friendly.
- Translate traditional employment programming (resume writing, interview skills, job search strategies, etc.) into digital-first learning experiences.
- Moderate online discussions, forums, and digital communities to enhance learner engagement and retention.
- Utilize digital tools (polls, breakout rooms, quizzes, etc.) to create dynamic and immersive learning environments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align digital programming with organizational goals and service delivery models.
- Partner with external stakeholders to co-develop or deliver virtual training initiatives.
- Share best practices and provide guidance to staff on effective use of digital tools and platforms.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Social Services, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in e-learning development, virtual facilitation, or digital training delivery.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering online learning content using Learning Management Systems (e.g., D2L).
- Strong proficiency with digital tools and platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, LMS platforms, content creation tools).
- Experience creating multimedia content (presentations, videos, interactive modules).
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and online engagement strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in both official languages is an asset.
- Class G Driver’s License with access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
