EDGE+ Program: Training for All Abilities
Our EDGE+ Program supports individuals living with any disability through up to 6 weeks of in-class training, preparing them with the skills needed to succeed in the workplace.
As part of the program, participants complete a 12-week paid work placement (25 hours per week) with partnering organizations — giving employers access to motivated, trained candidates while supporting workforce inclusion.
Employer Support & Benefits:
- Reimbursement of the basic minimum wage ($17.20/hour) for up to 25 hours per week per participant
- Guidance and resources on inclusive hiring practices
- Accessibility training for staff and managers
- Reimbursement for necessary workplace accommodations (e.g., ramps, modifications)
- Employers remain responsible for mandatory contributions and deductions (CPP, EI, income tax)
Participant Training Includes:
- Leadership, communication, and workplace readiness skills
- Soft skills development for team collaboration and adaptability
- Certifications such as WHMIS, AODA, Standard First Aid & CPR
- Additional training also available tailored to specific job placements
