Questions about
Who can access Spark Employment Services.
Spark Employment Services serves individuals in the Greater Sudbury Area seeking gainful employment. To qualify for services you must:
- Provide proof of date of birth and SIN.
- Meet Ontario’s legal working age requirements.
- Reside in Ontario.
- Be legally authorized to work in Canada (e.g., citizens, permanent residents, or refugee claimants with a 900-series SIN).
Is there a cost to Spark’s services?
As a non-profit charitable organization, all of our services are completely free. Spark receives funding from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD), Collège Boréal – Service System Manager (SSM) and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) to support job seekers in our community.
I am an international student; can you help me find work?
Unfortunately, we are not able to serve international students due to the eligibility set by the ministry. Although that’s not an option at this point, you can always access our resource center to print resumes, use laptops and WIFI, and join our weekly Help Wanted Club workshops. Please check out our Help Wanted Club page for more info.
