Spark Employment Service is excited to announce its pivotal role in assisting employers to apply for the highly beneficial Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG).
This grant is designed to empower both employers and individuals by offering a comprehensive range of skills training services, fostering workforce development, and promoting greater employer engagement in training initiatives.
The COJG is an instrumental program that aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills to not only secure gainful employment but also to advance and flourish in their careers. It facilitates employer-led skills training and supports workforce growth through cost-sharing arrangements, encouraging employers to play an active role in developing a skilled and competent workforce.
Key features of the Canada-Ontario Job Grant include:
- Substantial Government Support: The COJG provides up to $10,000 in government support per person to cover training costs. This financial backing serves as a significant incentive for employers to invest in the professional development of their workforce.
- Employer Contribution and Flexibility: Employers are required to contribute only 1/6th of the total training costs, making it an accessible and cost-effective solution for organizations of all sizes.
- Training by Accredited Third-Party Trainers: To ensure the highest quality of training, the COJG mandates that training be delivered by eligible, third-party trainers. This guarantees that participants receive top-notch instruction tailored to their specific needs and industry requirements.
“To build a stronger Ontario, we need to ensure jobseekers can get the skills they need to take the next steps in their careers,” said Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. “Our investment in the Canada-Ontario Job Grant is helping workers in every corner of our province secure better jobs and bigger paycheques, building stronger communities for us all.”
